Roger Ferguson – HR and Performance Assessment

fergusonRoger Ferguson, GPHR is the Lead Consultant for Human Resource matters at HeadwayExec. He also owns and operates iSi Human Resources Consulting, LLC, based in Houston, Texas.  His passion is improving corporate performance management systems and his first book, “Finally! Performance Assessment That Works,” introduces Big Five Performance Management, a common sense alternative to the traditional approach.  The book is now available on Amazon and Kindle.

Roger has had the good fortune to be affiliated with two of the best employers in the Fortune 500.  He began his career as a corporate recruiter for Texas Commerce Bank, now JPMorgan Chase Bank, in Houston.  He worked in both Human Resources and Operations roles in Houston, El Paso, and Dallas, and was promoted to Senior Vice President.  He then joined The Fluor Corporation where he worked in several Human Resources Director roles, including a two year international assignment in Afghanistan providing base life support to US warfighters.  Roger has participated in performance appraisal improvement initiatives in a number of large, medium, and small businesses using Big Five Performance Management, his new and innovative process.

Roger and his teams and colleagues have received numerous awards for outstanding performance including: Fluor’s Silver Cross for life saving actions on the job; the 2009 and 2010 Fluor HR Excellence Awards; the EEOC’s “Freedom To Compete” award for Fluor’s Mentoring Circles program; and the Chase Distinguished Achiever Award for Outstanding Customer Service.  Roger was the in-country Human Resources lead for LOGCAPIV in Afghanistan where the US Army client called the Transition of Authority “the most successful in US military history!”  Roger has conducted training or led HR teams in most major US cities as well as in Calgary, the UK, Trinidad & Tobago, the UK, the Netherlands, India, UAE, and Afghanistan.

He received his undergraduate degree and Masters of Education from Texas A&M University and completed his Global Professional Human Resources (GPHR) certification in 2012.
